First let me tell you a bit more about Life Book in case you haven’t heard about it yet!

“Life Book, a celebration and honouring of YOU” is a year-long mixed media art class organised by Tamara Laporte from Willowing Arts.

Tam is joined by 23 incredible art teachers who are all gearing up to share their mixed media techniques, tips and tricks with YOU! Themed around self-development and healing, you’ll be creating several loose mixed media art journal pages per month which by the end of the year you will bind into a glorious journal (a Life Book)! You will have a wonderful keepsake that you can treasure for the rest of your life!

You can find out a lot more about this wildly popular course (it has been joined by over 8700 people in the past!) by clicking HERE.

I haven’t fully developed my class idea yet, but I’m excited to be sharing with you how to find your own voice in your art through personally meaningful symbolism and how to build texture with mediums and pastes, much like you can see in these paintings:

I will also be making a BONUS class on sacred self care and we’ll be making a watercolor as well as a raw food recipe.

Registration opens for LifeBOOK 20166 on October 5th 2015 and the class begins on January 1st 2016.

So if you want to start the year with a fabulous creative BANG and spend 2016 with a wonderful creative community of like-minded souls, learning more about art and how to be kinder and more loving towards yourself, be sure to join once registration opens! 🙂

Hi Lisa! I would love to win a spot in the LB 2016 class. Through Tam, I understand the value of exploring myself and my feelings, through art and I would love to participate in LB to do exactly that. The last few years have been very difficult and plagued with personal losses, but it’s time to turn a corner and I can’t think of a better way to start a new year than to start it with the journey through LB with other like minded souls. Congratulations on becoming a member of the LB teaching staff and thank you for the opportunity to enter the give away. XOX juliembear@msn.com.com

I am hoping to win a space in Life Book 2016 as I had joined Life Book this year. I have had a very difficult year with my Mom dying of cancer then finding out my Dad's cancer returned and lastly that my only sibling has a brain tumor. I am looking for a community of artists and healing through my art work as I continue my journey as an artist. I know that making art brings me joy and healing. I hope you will consider me for your Life Book space as I am so inspired by all of the amazing teachers that are going to be teaching this year. I wish this wasn't my life but it is.

Hey there! ♥ Thank you so much for the opportunity to win a spot in LB 2016!!! I would be honored to win LB2016 for so many reasons, from learning new art skills and techniques, to exposure to new amazing teachers, to participate in a community with creative beings, to breaking out of my shell and being a pat of something for AN ENTIRE YEAR!!!- OMG! To amaze the socks off myself with a gallery of incredible art pieces I made myself taught by the astounding LB teachers (that's how good the teachers all are!), and last but not at all least, the HEALING effects it has. Dealing with agoraphobia and PTSD , LB has given a voice to deep silenced unexpressed emotion I carry. I am learning and expressing more every day. LB has sparked a glittering light at the end of the tunnel for me and to be able to continue this journey with LB no doubt keeps that spark burning! To actually win a spot would mean more than the world! ♥ Good luck to all! Such a fabulous prize!!! ♥

I took part in the very first Lifebook and loved it! Since then I've gone through a separation after over 20 years, went back to school and got a degree, entered into the workforce again after 20 years of raising kids, got divorced and moved to a new town. Now I'm ready to get back to art journaling and would love to be a part of Lifebook once again. Thanks for the opportunity.

I want to be seen and heard in 2016!

I deal with many challenges and illnesses (mental and physical) and have had turmoil in my relationships of late, leading me to feel quite invisible and worthless. While I am working diligently in group and individual therapy, there’s something missing.

I want to be seen for who I am not WHAT I my labels say. There’s so much more to me than my health concerns. Perhaps this class isn’t a panacea for all that ails me, but I hope it will help me to find myself and what moves me. I want to be able to define myself on paper in a NEW way, one that isn’t in my psychiatrist’s or physician’s reference manual. I seek a definition of myself with pulp and juice that will energize me!

A monthly class will also give me a monthly goal- something that is essential to someone with recurring major depression. Creativity is an outlet for me and having a monthly forum for that passion would benefit me in so many ways. It would keep me out of bed and interacting in my life. i will be creating art and, when I like what I create, I tend to show others. That gets me interacting with people- something that is very hard for me to do at times.

thank you for considering me for this class.
